    Version sequence note: v4.9 is intentionally skipped. The next release after v4.8 is v4.10 (LTS).

    Channel policy transition note: stable as the default channel starts from v4.10.x. Historical versions (v4.0.x to v4.8.x) used latest as the default channel.

    Release Policy

    A new minor version of the Alauda DevOps Pipelines operator is usually released every month.

    Within every 4-month period, the last minor version will be selected as a Long Term Support (LTS) version. LTS versions are supported for 12 months, while non-LTS versions are supported four months.

    In exceptional release cycles, a minor version number can be intentionally skipped (for example, v4.9).

    During these four months, we will update to the latest or second LTS version officially released by Tekton.

    Channel Policy

    The Alauda DevOps Pipelines operator uses the following channel strategy:

    • From v4.10.x onward:
      • stable (default): Contains LTS versions only and is recommended for production.
      • latest: Contains all versions and is recommended for development and testing.
      • pipelines-x.y: Available for LTS versions and receives patch updates in that LTS minor line.
    • Historical versions (v4.0.x to v4.8.x):
      • Default channel was latest.
      • pipelines-x.y channels were also published for both LTS and non-LTS minor versions.

    Maintenance Policy

    Alauda provides comprehensive maintenance support for the Alauda DevOps Pipelines operator with different support durations based on version type.

    During the maintenance period, Alauda provides the following services:

    1. Security Updates: Regular security patches and updates that comply with Alauda's security standards.
    2. Bug Fixes: Prompt delivery of bug fixes from upstream Tekton releases.
    3. Upgrade Assistance: Support for smooth operator upgrades to newer versions.
    4. Regular Maintenance: Security updates released every two months to ensure stability.
